Berggruen et Cie, 1952. Soft cover. Bin 4 (Long Case). Very good / Poor. Item #89100

Huelsenbeck was a psychoanalyst, and founder of the Berlin Dada Group just after WWI. Because of his left wing politics, he fled Nazi Germany and emigrated to the United States, where he worked at the Karen Horney Institute. The poems in the book were originally in German and are translated by Robert Valancay into French, with each version facing each other. The forward is written by Michel Seuphor, a well-known abstract artist and art scholar. The dedication is in English, and the book is copyrighted with his Anglicized name, Charles R. Hulbeck.
