Album containing 57 mounted albumen photographs and a papyrus sample documenting a voyage through the Mediterranean in 1868. The photos are of varying sizes. Many of the larger ones are commercial, with locations printed on the bottom corner, as well as a few taken by an amateur photographer. Folio-sized, full leather binding by Edwin Slater of Manchester. Five bands, gilt covers and fore edges. Covers edgeworn and bumped. Some foxing and soiling on some pages.
Interesting album of an 1868 Mediteranean voyage taken on his private yacht. It opens with a photo of the gentleman aboard his vessel. Features at least a half-dozen images each of seven venues, including Malta; Siracusa, Messina & Palermo (Sicily); Caligari (Sardinia), Pisa and Genova; concludes with one photograph of Marseille.
