There are four floors in our building that house over 150,000 books. On the fourth floor is More Moe's, our art and antiquarian store that houses many more rare and collectible books and curiosities.
We sometimes send out emails about events related to Moe's Books, books in general, our history, what's happening in the store. We have not added a single name to the list since 2019. Would you like to join? Today's email, the first since May, was about One Book, One Bart and the new book for their book club. Do you know about that? BARTable.com for more info.
Contacting the part of the store that suits your needs
Moe's has three separate areas where books are sold. Please read through to see which option will best serve your needs:
To inquire about a book that might be in our main store, you can phone us at (510) 849-2087, every day from 10am to 10pm. We have hundreds of thousands of volumes available here, and hundreds of titles are bought and shelved each day. Many of our books can be found through the search feature on this site, but the vast majority of titles are just on our shelves. You can always e-mail us a want list or a specific book you are looking for.
Use our search feature to look through More Moe's, our art and antiquarian shop -- 90% of their inventory is listed there. If you have any questions about a title, you can phone the art shop between noon and 6pm at (510) 849-2133 Wednesday through Saturday, or email them at email@example.com
If you have any questions about a title we have listed as warehoused, you can send an email, or call us at (510)849-2089. Please leave a message. Because our online inventory is warehoused, a response may take up to 48 hours. At the moment, we have over 27,000 volumes catalogued online.
If you have a library, or large collection of books to sell, and are in the San Francisco Bay Area, we do sometimes schedule house calls. We make house calls for scholarly libraries in select categories of 500 volumes or more; for specialized libraries (trains, textiles, philosophy, what have you) of 500 volumes or more on one subject, or in fine editions; or general collections in good condition of a thousand volumes or more. If you'd like to see if your collection qualifies for a house call, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please state the quantity and kind of books that you have.
