Includes a handwritten poem signed by Gilman and taped to the front flyleaf. The poem is dated March 15, 1935, a few months before Gilman's death in August. Also has a tipped in card written by Gilman's daughter, the artist Katherine Beecher Stetson Chamberlain, which reads: "With happy recollections of seas of wild flowers-- and warm regards in which mama joins me." Signed by both Chamberlain and Gilman, who lived with her daughter the last two years of her life after husband's sudden death.
Covers are edgeworn, but overall in excellent shape.
